Be Boring. (It’s the Only Way to Get Work Done.) 9 — 4 Comments

  1. I’m not reading the book (had good intentions but they got derailed) but I LOVE the concept of being boring to get work done. When I’ve had a good work week and talk to someone who asks me what’s new, I always say, “I’m boring, I’ve been writing all week.” And it’s true–to the world I’ve done nothing but sit at my desk. Of course to me, I’ve been enthralled with my characters and having a blast!

    • This is the time of year for me to be “bored”…love just getting up, reading, walking…wandering around. It takes a while to allow all of the voices to stop telling me to “do something”! “be responsible”…but those voices have calmed…and I am enjoying some new ideas to creep into my thoughts… and this is exciting!

Like you stated, Charlotte. From the outside, no one really sees the creative work going on…but we know :)

  2. Establishing and keeping a routine – yeah right! I am so far away from having any kind of routine lately and I can definitely feel that in many ways – tired, overwhelmed sometimes lately. I am spending this weekend with some downtime – I had plans and I am realizing that I need some downtime to get organized and just do nothing. Be bored!

    • so true…enjoy your “boring” time…let’s see what happens :)

Finding I need to get back into a routine after a week off!
